Gifting isn’t a mere habit. It is a way to shower love on someone and make them feel special. It is also an instance where we can pamper someone and spoil them. Here are some of the reasons we found:
- It improves our relationship with the person
- You can expect a gift in return
- You can share that gift if the person share your living space
- Gifting and giving gives certain joy
- They are a great way to bring a smile or see joy on a person close to you
- You may want to bridge the long distance that separates you and the receiver
I know of many office parties where people give gifts to the person who celebrates his birthday or his wedding or a promotion or a salary increment. One feels wonderful when people come to shake hands, sing songs, laud and applause. The entire bonhomie of people being together is incredible.
I remember the time when during school days I had to carry gifts to all children when it was my birthday. The entire class stood up to sing ”happy birthday” and one chose to wear casual clothes on that day to make it special. Isn’t it all we need to do our entire life? One needs to feel special to make others feel special. It is like a good, positive viral that spreads and brings cheers.
Those days are never long gone for us. Grab hold of your mother and take her to a restaurant on her birthday or gift a bunch of flowers or a box of chocolates to your girlfriend or wife or gift a salwar kameez or a pair of jeans to your sister. Sometimes there doesn’t require to be any reason for gifting. Gifts are just like that…….
